About

The Health@ASU website was created to provide an overview of the myriad and exciting activities happening at Arizona State University in health and healthcare. It is a portal as well as a showcase, featuring the latest in health news, and links to many units of interest across disciplines.

Browsing through these pages, it becomes clear that ASU is empowering the next generation of scientists, professionals, entrepreneurs, and educators through an approach that breaks down traditional silos between academic disciplines and brings together world-renowned experts to solve challenges.

ASU has created the nation’s first interdisciplinary research institute devoted entirely to innovations inspired by nature’s grand designs. The Biodesign Institute includes 554,000 square-feet of award-winning, LEED-certified buildings, and is Arizona’s largest investment in infrastructure devoted to bioscience-related research. Our bioscience initiatives are redefining medical research, harnessing cutting-edge technology for the good of the planet, and focusing scientific expertise on the areas of greatest human need.

The health enterprise at ASU includes efforts across the campuses and disciplines, from centers, institutes and academic units, such as the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation and College of Health Solutions, to partnerships with Mayo Clinic, Barrow Neurological Institute, Dublin City University and other centers of research, medicine, public service and industry.

The School of Life Sciences serves as an academic hub for interdisciplinary centers, institutes and attracting research talent. Dynamic laboratories, state-of-the-art technologies and a vast expansion of research infrastructure now support more than 5,015 students and 107 faculty members. Many pursue discovery and translational research, providing an entrepreneurial climate to bring the best research ideas to fruition.

The following Arizona State University entities teach, conduct research or support initiatives that impact health and health care locally and globally.
